The Sensory Neuron and the Pleasure Perception...

Rémy Steinschneider Ph.D. invites you to the in-focus Aphrodisia conference at in-cosmetics April 17, 14.45-15.15.

The Sensory Neuron and the Pleasure Perception

Animals, as well as humans, perceive their environment with five senses, smell, touch, sight, hear and taste. The receptors of each of these senses correspond to nerve endings, which transmit an electrical signal to the brain via connectors (axons and dendrites). The information collected at skin level concerns pain/irritation, temperature and pressure. These messages are interpreted on different zones of the brain and according to their combinations and intensity they are translated into pain or on the contrary pleasure. This presentation will show how to model in vitro these cutaneous perceptions and the eventual possibility to modulate the level of response separating pain from pleasure.
