BIOalternatives will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. 10 years of evolution, new in vitro models development and perseverance to satisfy the demands of a growing panel of customers.

Starting with 3 staff members in 1996, François-Xavier Bernard PhD and Alain Deguercy PhD, the founders of company, now lead a multidisciplinary team of 24 people, including 20 scientists, specialized in various fields such as molecular biology, cell and tissue culture and biochemistry. Those skills came to support the development of new models.

Over the years, new requirements arose for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. Safety and ethics became issues that industrialists could no longer ignore. In the mean time, nutraceutics developed on the increasing interest of the general population for their food and what benefits they could gain from a balanced diet. Those concerns led BIOalternatives to develop original models dedicated to different fields covered by the company; new models that obviously call for leading-edge technology in wich BIOalternatives invest continuously.

This growth in both staff and technology naturally led to the opening of a new wing.
